Iina Eshed
Iina Eshed (MA) is an art educator, visual artist, and a doctoral candidate at University of Lapland. In addition to being a visual artist, she has gained experience in the fields of pedagogy, music, dance and cultures. She has worked as an art and crafts teacher and as a classroom teacher. Her art is exploratory and cross-cultural, and it embodies themes dealing with the essence of human nature, cultures, spiritualism and nature. In her doctoral studies, she concentrates on the connection between art and well-being during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her main focus is in the importance of art as an increaser of well-being and as a preventer of exclusion during the pandemic in northern communities. She is looking for new ways to create well-being with the means of art and new ways of seeing and communicating between art and science by combining different artistic research methods and art-based research methods. Currently, she works as a visual artist, music maker and music promoter.
