Christa Haataja
Christa Haataja is a designer and a doctoral candidate in Applied Visual Arts in University of Lapland, Faculty of Art and Design. Currently she is working in Environmental art for tourism –project as a project manager.
The encounter with past and present, as well as the dialogue between different interpretations of history, have been Haataja’s great interest for a long time. In her research she investigates the possibilities of applied visual art practices and methods, to be used in visualizing the past.
The study focuses on representing and visualizing the multicultural past of ancient Kemi Lapland, which will be approached by northern cultural history and micro historical methods as well as Sámi-related research.
